Over the years, I have tried all different products and nothing seemed to work. It seemed like I couldn't quite figure out what worked for my skin. I've been doing this skincare routine for quite sometime and I don't stray too far from it.
To remove my makeup, I like to use coconut oil. I just rub the coconut oil on my dry face and massage it into my skin and I make sure that I get a generous amount around my eyes to remove my eye makeup. Then I use a warm wet washcloth to remove everything. I love coconut oil! It makes an amazing lotion too!
I wash my face with a combination of olive oil, castor oil and tea tree oil. You can use other oils instead of castor oil and olive oil. It's all about finding what works best for you. I did some research and honestly found this on someone's post from acne.org. I've seen this all over pinterest too as well. It's referred to as an oil cleansing method. The way I make it is I take 3 Tablespoons of castor oil, mix 1 Tablespoon of olive oil and I add a couple of drops of tea tree oil. Sometimes I will even add in Lavender oil. Growing up I was always scared to put any oil on my face. I have had a couple of people tell me that my oily skin actually needs the oil. And every since I have been using this, my skin hasn't been as oily as it used to be.
This concoction lasts me for a month or two. Which is nice because it's cheaper than buying some face washes! I massage it into my skin for about a minute or two and then get a warm wet washcloth and wipe it off my face.
Next I dab a little bit of the tea tree oil on any blemishes that I might have. This stuff is AMAZING!! It does not dry my skin out and it gets rid of the blemish within a couple of days. I used to use products like persagel which was so drying.
The last thing I use to top off this routine is Rosehip oil. I read that Miranda Kerr swears by it so I was intrigued. One of the benefits of Rosehip oil is that it helps with scaring. I have noticed a difference in my skin since using this!
A couple times a week, I will use Lush's Mask of Magnaminty , it's a mask and a scrub all in one! I love Lush products and am always wanting to try all their skincare products.
Happy Friday everyone!
